I painted Almost There about a year and a half after I began learning how to paint.
At the time, I was learning how to paint and spending long hours testing prints and adjusting colors. Everything moved slowly. Each small step took more time and energy than I expected.
I remember feeling like I was working underground. Quietly. Adding one small piece at a time without knowing how close I was to the surface.
The image that stayed with me was a pile of small, shining stones forming beneath the ground — not visible yet, but close enough to feel warmth above them.
