Subconsciously

"Subconsciously," a modern abstract artwork featuring a large moon-like shape with light layers of green, surrounded by ribbon-like waves of varying green tones at the bottom. Fuzzy bubbles in shades of green, blue, and white float in the black background, evoking the serene and mysterious beauty of a moonlit ocean at night.

I painted Subconsciously during a period when I felt confident in my work, even as it took longer than I expected to see results.

I never believed my art wouldn’t sell. I trusted that it would. At the same time, building the foundation for my art business required patience — testing, adjusting, learning, and repeating the same processes over and over. Progress was happening, but slowly.

That pace created a quiet dilemma. I believed in where I was going, yet I had to stay with the work without knowing when momentum would appear. It wasn’t discouraging, just unresolved.

While I was painting, a large green form kept returning, steady and unmoving. In front of it, I layered bands of green again and again, like waves repeating the same motion. The background remained dark, open, and unfinished.

I wasn’t painting uncertainty about the destination.
I was painting what it feels like to keep moving while the foundation is still forming.

That’s where Subconsciously came from.
